Energy shares have kept strength into the last hour of trading as crude oil futures advanced to close in positive territory. Light, sweet crude oil for July delivery finished up 0.3% to $93.26 a barrel. In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund (USO) is up 0.33% to $36.75. The United States Natural Gas ETF (UNG) is down 0.63% at $10.97. In late-session energy news, shares of Peabody Energy ( BTU ) are higher in late trading as Goldman Sachs reportedly upgraded the company to buy from neutral. Shares are up 1%. Meanwhile, shares of Anadarko Petroleum ( APC ) are down following reports the company will pay more than $17 million to resolve disputes that they knowingly underpaid royalties on natural gas generated from federal and Indian territory.
