Sector Update: Consumer Shares Mixed; Nu Skin up 14% on Earnings

Consumer shares are mixed in pre-bell trading, as Nu Skin ( NUS ) reports Q3 revs of $927.6 million and EPS of $1.80, vs. the analyst consensus of $811.7 million on revs and earnings of $1.43 per share.

The company announced that it is significantly increasing its full-year 2013 revenue guidance to $3.18 billion to $3.21 billion. The new guidance includes a projected negative currency impact of 4 percent for the year. The company now expects 2013 earnings to be $5.77 to $5.82 per share. The Street view is $2.94 bln in revenue and earnings of $5.18 per share. NUS is up 14.46% at $118.00.

And, Harley-Davidson ( HOG ) reported Q3 earnings per share increased 23.7% to $0.73 and revenue was $1.34 billion. Analysts expected earnings of $0.73 on $1.16 billion in revenue for Q3, according to Capital IQ. HOG is up 1.4% at $66.50.

And, Coach, Inc. ( COH ) is down 3% as it reports Q1 EPS of $0.77, a penny ahead of the analyst consensus on Capital IQ. Sales were $1.15 billion, shy of the Street view of $1.19 billion.
