Consumer shares were generally flat in pre-market trade Tuesday.
In consumer stocks news, food and beverage company Dean Foods Company ( DF ) has been upgraded by analysts at Credit Suisse to an outperform rating from neutral.
Price target information was not available.
In Tuesday's pre-market session, shares of DF are up 1% at $15.40 from their Monday close at $15.20, amid a 52-week trading range of $13.59 - $21.46
And, Sprouts Farmers Market ( SFM ) said late Monday it commenced an an underwritten public offering of 15 million shares by affiliates of Apollo Global Management, LLC and other stockholders.
SFM ended the after-hours session down 3.75% at $ 31.34 but was so far flat in the Tuesday's pre-market.
Finally, specialty retailer chain Abercrombie & Fitch Company ( ANF ) has been upgraded by analysts at Stifel Nicolaus to a buy rating from a hold.
The firm set its price target on the stock at $50 a share, which represents a potential upside of 20% from its Monday closing price.
Shares of ANF are up 1.3% to $42.10 in Tuesday's pre-market session, trading within a 52-week frame of $31.14 - $50.85.
