Sector Update: Computer Software Shares Drop 1.5%; Adobe Slides Amid Reports of Possible Data Security Risks

Computer Software stocks (SPSICS) on average are down 1.5% today, also working to pull the S&P 500 0.5% lower at 1,668.57. Year-to-date, software stocks are outpacing the broader market as measured by the S&P 500, rising 29.6% compared to a 14.6% for the S&P 500.

Taking the biggest hits today are Red Hat Inc ( RHT ), down 4.3%, and Autodesk Inc ( ADSK ), falling 2.7%. Cimatron Ltd ( CIMT ) is down 2.2% today with the company today introducing a new 5-Axis Porting option for its BibbsCAM software while Adobe Systems ( ADBE ) is down 2.1% following multiple reports of possible data security risks.
