Sector Energy: Energy Shares Up Pre-Market as Crude Futures Dip Toward $96 Per Barrel

Energy shares are higher in pre-market, while crude oil futures are down.

Light, sweet crude oil for December delivery is trading down $0.55 at $95.83 a barrel. In other energy futures, heating oil is down $0.02 at $2.93 a gallon while natural gas is down $0.03 at $3.55 per million British thermal units.

In energy ETFs, the United States Oil Fund ( USO ) is flat at $34.69. The United States Natural Gas ETF ( UNG ) is down -1.13% at $17.55.

In other energy news, Southwestern Energy ( SWN ) is up 2% at $38.00 in pre-market trade after it reported Q3 EPS of $0.51, ex one-time items, beating the analyst estimate of $0.50 on Capital IQ. Oil and gas revenues were $621.82 million, beating the consensus of $603.86 million.

This compares to EPS of $0.38 on revenues of $499.1 million in the same quarter a year ago.
