Scholastic (SCHL) Reports Q3 Loss, Lags Revenue Estimates

Scholastic (SCHL) came out with a quarterly loss of $0.80 per share in line with the Zacks Consensus Estimate. This compares to loss of $0.57 per share a year ago. These figures are adjusted for non-recurring items.

A quarter ago, it was expected that this publishing, education and media company would post earnings of $2.65 per share when it actually produced earnings of $2.45, delivering a surprise of -7.55%.

Over the last four quarters, the company has surpassed consensus EPS estimates just once.

Scholastic, which belongs to the Zacks Publishing - Books industry, posted revenues of $323.7 million for the quarter ended February 2024, missing the Zacks Consensus Estimate by 1.67%. This compares to year-ago revenues of $324.9 million. The company has not been able to beat consensus revenue estimates over the last four quarters.

Lamb Weston's revenues are expected to be $1.65 billion, up 31.4% from the year-ago quarter.
