German business software provider, SAP SESAP has teamed up with Vodafone to launch the Internet of Things (IoT) foundation bundle for SAP HANA, with device connectivity management capability from Vodafone.
This collaboration will enable businesses leverage Vodafone's IoT connectivity platform to connect and manage devices. Businesses will be able to collect and shift data from the devices into the SAP HANA platform for various uses, for instance, to support predictive maintenance.
Their alliance will cover customer projects in all markets that they jointly serve. Also, the technical certification of the service is supported by the new IoT foundation from SAP.
The IoT foundation for SAP HANA incorporates Vodafone's device connectivity management to facilitate the aggregation of data from SIM-based IoT devices' status, rate plans, usage and billing. Thus, the integrated dashboard allows SAP users to effortlessly manage global IoT deployments. It also streamlines the process of acquiring and managing wireless services which interoperate with SAP solutions for the IoT.
The latest collaboration builds on SAP's robust ecosystem of key partners in the IoT space. The partnership will help clients get the most out of their IoT data, and gain faster returns on their IoT investments. SAP has gradually become a reliable partner for businesses that seek to digitize their entire operational landscape including applications, cloud, business networks and platforms.
However, factors like intensifying competition in the IT industry and inherent seasonality in clients' technology spending have been exerting pressure on this Zacks Rank #4 (Sell) stock's financials.
