The Shell oil spill was spotted by a helicopter at around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday . The company has already announced that a cleanup crew is being dispatched to handle the incident. Wells connected to the line with the leak have been shut off, reports Kansas City Star .
The U.S. Coast Guard said that the Shell oil spill has already been contained. The leak caused a section of ocean that was 13 miles across and 2 miles wide to be covered in oil. No injuries were reported in connection to the spill.
RDS.A and RDS.B shares were down 1% as of Friday morning.
