Review Shows Coles, Woolies Have Less Locally Made Items on Shelves

Consumer advocate Choice is pushing for better country of original labelling after a review found that the two supermarket giants in Australia have less locally made products on its shelves.

The Choice inspection discovered that only 55 per cent of Coles's private label products were manufactured in Australia and only 38 per cent in Woolworths. In contrast, locally made items accounted for 92 per cent of market leader grocery goods.
