Pizza Hut Tests Out Robot Cashier

Pizza Hut (NYSE: YUM ) is testing a robot cashier to process its orders.

The pizza chain has launched Pepper, an android designed by SoftBank to take orders from customers and do everything from marking it down, accepting payments and even interacting with consumers

The Pizza Hut robot even uses hand gestures and a comforting voice to make customers feel at home when ordering. Pepper comes equipped with a tablet on its chest that allows you order food.

The developer's version of Pepper will cost about $1,800.

YUM stock is up 2.7% Tuesday.
