Piedmont Natural Gas Posts Q1 EPS, Sales Beat - FY2013 EPS Guidance Straddles Street; Shares Edge Lower

Piedmont Natural Gas ( PNY ) edges lower after the company reports Q1 2013 earnings of $1.18 per diluted share, beating analyst estimates by 2 cents, and higher compared to $1.05 per diluted share for the same period in 2012.

Revenues were $515.8 million, handily topping estimates of $495.1 million, and higher than prior year revenues of $471.8 million.

PNY reaffirms its fiscal year 2013 earnings guidance of $1.67 to $1.77 per diluted share. Analysts are expecting full-year earnings of $1.74 per share.

PNY is down 0.3% at $32.89 after-hours, near the high in a 52-week range of $28.51 - $33.72.
