Pacific North West Capital Corp. (PFN-T) has selected a new president and chief operating officer, appointing William Stone to the position at the mineral exploration company.

Stone has held senior management positions with several mining and exploration firms over the past 25 years, most recently at Magma Metal Ltd. (MMW.TO) where he was responsible for finding a recently discovered platinum group and copper-nickel deposit near Thunder Bay, Ont. He also was vice president for exploration at North American Palladium (PDL.TO), guiding development of the Lac des Iles platinum group mine near Thunder Bay as well as gold exploration in Quebec.

Stone replaces Harry Barr as president at Pacific North after Barr chose to give up the post Wednesday but will remain CEO while also becoming board chairman.
