Notable option trades in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

CenturyLink (CTL): Traders purchased more than 4,300 September 42 calls for $0.30 to $0.45 as investors look for upside in the share price. CTL rose 0.49 percent to $40.99.

Transocean (RIG): An investor bought 5,000 January 35 puts for $1.27 and sold 5,000 January 30 puts for $0.27. Known as a put spread, the trade cost $1 and will earn 400 percent if the energy-services stock closes at $30 or lower on expiration. RIG fell 0.44 percent to $38.55.

Ericsson (ERIC): More than 5,000 January 14 calls were bought for $0.30 and $0.35 as investors look for upside in the Swedish technology stock. ERIC rose 1.08 percent to $12.58.
