Notable option activity in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with unusual option activity on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

Philip Morris (PM): About 15,000 December 90 calls were bought, mostly for $0.25 to $0.33, as investors looked for upside in the tobacco stock. PM rose 0.74 percent to $79.22.

SBA Communications (SBAC): About 3,300 October 105 calls were sold as investors bet upside would be limited in the owner of wireless towers. SBAC rose 1.42 percent to $105.06.

Calpine (CPN): About 8,900 January 13 puts were bought, most of which priced for $0.80, as investors sought protection in the electricity-generation stock. CPN rose 2.76 percent to $14.70.
