North Korean missile test earlier - US, Japan responses

Earlier today North Korea fired a missile into the sea as part of a test

You know why two thirds of the planet is covered with water? Its so North Korea have a decent chance of hitting the target.

Anyway ... US State Department:

  • Says it is aware of reports that North Korea fired ballistic missiles, "monitoring and continuing to assess the situation"
  • Strongly condemns "this and North Korea's other recent missile tests," which violate UN security council resolutions

Also, Japan chief cabinet secretary Suga:

  • Doing utmost for the safety of aircraft after the missile
