ATM and POS manufacturer, NCR CorporationNCR has been awarded another deal. The company recently announced that its cloud-based point-of-sale (POS) system and technology has been implemented by Jamie's Italian. According to the company, well known chef Jamie Oliver has adopted NCR's POS system for the first time in Brazil. This will help the restaurant to process bill payments faster, thereby reducing waiting time for patrons.

NCR's Aloha Table service POS software has not only helped Jamie's Italian modernize its restaurants, but also enhance customers' experience by significantly reducing transaction time. Further, Jamie's Italian has installed the NCR Pulse Real-Time smartphone application, which offers easy access to multiple NCR solutions in one place.

This SaaS-based mobile application helps restaurant operators solve everyday issues and at the same time offers improved visibility into the operational performance of the restaurants.

This application sends notifications and alerts to designated smartphones. The data thus collected helps to provide a quick and easy review of operational information, such as net sales by hour, employee performance and overtime alerts. This is an effective restaurant management solution, which should find other takers in the long run.

Also, once fully implemented, Jamie's Italian believes the POS solution will maximize the effectiveness of its managers. More people are now opting for this mode of payment as it does not require any middle men, transaction fee or the need to disclose identity to complete the transaction.

Right from increasing operational efficiency of the restaurants to managing food retail outlets, NCR has been instrumental in offering value added solutions to its clients.

The demand for NCR Corporation's POS solution is increasing among retailers and restaurant owners as it automates bill payment and accounting. As a result, managers get ample time for customer interaction, leading to increased productivity.

We believe that NCR Corporation's growth in the ATM and self-service kiosk space is encouraging, given the tremendous growth prospects. Continued product launches, growing popularity of its self-service offerings and synergies from acquisitions are the other catalysts. We believe that NCR Corporation's commitment to protect the trust and integrity of the ATM channel has led banks and a host of other financial institutions to choose its services.

However, similar offerings from the likes of Diebold Corp. DBD and International Business Machines Corp. IBM could create some pressure.

Currently, NCR has a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell). Investors may consider Avago Technologies Limited AVGO , a better-ranked technology stock in the same space, sporting a Zacks Rank #1 (Strong Buy).
