January natural gas prices took on a higher track during the early morning hours and broke out to a new 8-session high in the process. Some traders viewed Wednesday's EIA storage data that showed a smaller than expected 9 bcf injection as a positive. This brought total storage levels to a new record high level of 3,852 bcf.
