Morning Movers: Barnes & Noble Sinks on Earnings; Hertz Jumps

Stocks look set to open little changed this morning even as jobless claims spiked due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey.

S&P 500 futures are little changed, while Dow Jones Industrial Average futures have dipped 6 points. Nasdaq Composite futures have ticked up 0.1%.

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals (ALNY) has tumbled 12% to $75.65 after suspending a hemophilia-treatment trial due to a patient death.

Barnes & Noble (BKS) has slumped 6.4% to $7.35 after reporting a larger-than-expected loss.

Cabela's (CAB) has surged 16% to $61.30 after the Federal Reserve approved the sale of its credit-card business, clearing the way for its sale to Bass Pro Shops.

Avis Budget Group (CAR) has climbed 4.8% to $36.57 and Hertz Global holdings (HTZ) has jumped 6.9% to $21.87 after Goldman Sachs upgraded the rental-car sector to Neutral from Cautious.

Conn's (CONN) has gained 2.8% to $19.59 after its earnings topped the Street consensus.

Praxair (PX) has risen 1.6% to $132.33 after getting upgraded to Positive from Neutral at Susquehanna.

RH (RH) has soared 37% to $67.80 after beating earnings forecasts and raising its guidance.

Sealed Air (SEE) has dropped 1.5% to $42.77 after getting cut to Neutral from Buy at Citigroup.

Whiting Petroleum (WLL) has slumped 3.9% to $4.40 after announcing a reverse stock split.
