Morning Gasoline Market Report

October RBOB prices tracked lower during the overnight and early morning hours, off nearly 7.0% from last week's high to this morning's low. Data over the weekend showed a rise in US gasoline prices in the wake of rising crude oil prices. However, demand prospects for gasoline were questionable in light of high US unemployment levels. The Commitments of Traders Futures and Options report as of September 6th showed non-commercial traders were net long 54,711 contracts, an increase of 3,078. Non-commercial and nonreportable traders combined held a net long position of 62,990 contracts, for an increase of 5,543 during the report week.
