Within that group, CF Industries Holdings Inc (Symbol: CF) and Mosaic Co (Symbol: MOS) are two of the day's stand-outs, showing a gain of 7.1% and 7.0%, respectively. Among the high volume ETFs , one ETF closely following materials stocks is the Materials Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLB), which is up 1.0% on the day, and up 10.86% year-to-date. CF Industries Holdings Inc, meanwhile, is down 3.19% year-to-date, and Mosaic Co , is down 16.13% year-to-date. Combined, CF and MOS make up approximately 2.6% of the underlying holdings of XLB.
The next best performing sector is the Energy sector, up 1.1%. Among large Energy stocks, Apache Corp (Symbol: APA) and Noble Energy Inc (Symbol: NBL) are the most notable, showing a gain of 4.7% and 2.7%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Energy stocks is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF ( XLE ), which is up 0.4% in midday trading, and down 13.52% on a year-to-date basis. Apache Corp, meanwhile, is down 24.83% year-to-date, and Noble Energy Inc, is down 26.64% year-to-date. Combined, APA and NBL make up approximately 2.8% of the underlying holdings of XLE.
