Monday Sector Laggards: Energy, Services

In afternoon trading on Monday, Energy stocks are the worst performing sector, showing a 0.1% loss. Within the sector, Marathon Oil Corp. (Symbol: MRO) and Apache Corp (Symbol: APA) are two of the day's laggards, showing a loss of 2.9% and 1.9%, respectively. Among energy ETFs , one ETF following the sector is the Energy Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLE), which is down 0.1% on the day, and down 14.05% year-to-date. Marathon Oil Corp., meanwhile, is down 31.74% year-to-date, and Apache Corp, is down 33.28% year-to-date. Combined, MRO and APA make up approximately 2.4% of the underlying holdings of XLE.

The next worst performing sector is the Services sector, up 0.5%. Among large Services stocks, TJX Companies (Symbol: TJX) and AutoZone, Inc. (Symbol: AZO) are the most notable, showing a loss of 1.9% and 1.7%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF ( IYC ), which is up 0.6% in midday trading, and up 9.77% on a year-to-date basis. TJX Companies, meanwhile, is down 6.02% year-to-date, and AutoZone, Inc., is down 33.53% year-to-date. Combined, TJX and AZO make up approximately 1.9% of the underlying holdings of IYC.
