Aanalyst Ryan Walker of Wellington West Capital Markets has reportedly picked through the morass of the TSX and the TSX Venture Exchange and highlighted six names that have the potential to emerge as the next generation of producers, as well as takeover targets for the seniors.
Each one has already identified a large deposit, has growth potential through exploration, and could make the difficult transition to production, Walker is cited as saying by the Financial Post. They are also working in politically stable jurisdictions, he reportedly added.
The name that sticks out to Walker is Minera IRL Ltd. (IRL.TO), a junior looking to produce 200,000 ounces a year in Peru and Argentina. Close behind is Rio Alto Mining Ltd. (RIO.V), which is also focused on Peru.
The other four names in his watchlist are Auryx Gold Corp. (AYX.TO), Belo Sun Mining Corp. (BSX.V), Klondex Mines Ltd. (KDX.TO), and Spanish Mountain Gold Ltd. (SPA.V).
