Anthony Bates, a vice president for business development at Microsoft ( MSFT ) , has sold some of his holdings in the company's common stock recently. Bates sold 95,990 shares on Oct. 14 and another 43,984 on Oct. 17. All together, he pulled in $4,810,094 from the sale.

IK-> The technicals for MSFT ($35.08 up $0.12) are bullish with an upward trend. Recent support has been around $34.39 and recent resistance has been near $35.20. Standard & Poor's has a three STARs (out of five) rating on the stock. Look at the Jan. 38/40 bear-call spread for a 23-cent credit. That's a 12.99% return and the stock has to rise 8.3% to cause a problem. [InvestorsKeyhole, Various news and data services]
