Mexico's Cemex posts more than 90 percent surge in quarterly profit

Mexican cement producer Cemex SAB de CV on Thursday reported a more than 90 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by higher prices and volume.

April 25 (Reuters) - Mexican cement producer Cemex SAB de CV CMXCPO.MX on Thursday reported a more than 90 percent rise in quarterly profit, helped by higher prices and volume.

Net profit rose to $39 million in the first quarter ended March, from $20 million, a year earlier, while total net sales increased by 1 percent to $3.2 billion.
