Mason Hawkins’ Southeastern Asset Management Sells Out of Rayonier

Mason Hawkins ( Trades , Portfolio )' Southeastern Asset Management sold out of Rayonier Inc. ( RYN ) on March 31.

Hawkins has served as Southeastern's chairman and CEO since its inception in 1975. His firm also manages the Longleaf Partners fund. The investment team uses an in-depth, fundamental approach to find strong companies with good management that are trading at a discount.

According to GuruFocus Real-Time Picks , the firm sold more than 6.7 million shares of Rayonier for around $28.34 per share, impacting the portfolio by -1.7%.

Structured as a real estate investment trust, Rayonier owns and operates forest resources, timberlands and real estate in nine U.S. states and New Zealand.
