Market Wrap-Up for May 24 (WFC, BBT, BP, CNX, BUCY, CME, more)

We have been in a pattern for the last several months where Mondays have been nothing but positive for the markets, but that streak ended today as buyers were unable to follow up the late Friday rally.

As for our research, we are continuing to look at where else we need to adjust our recommended list. We'll certainly keep subscribers alerted as to any changes we make.

Wall Street calls affected particular shares today. CME Group ( CME ) and William Sonoma ( WSM ) were higher on analyst upgrades, while names in the financial space were laggards today folllowing cautious analyst comments. Franklin Resources ( BEN ) , Wells Fargo ( WFC ) and BB&T ( BBT ) all traded lower on the day.

Elsewhere, commodity-related names were mostly lower with BP Plc ( BP ) continuing its recent drop as the company continues to be unable to stop the oil leak in the Gulf. Other commodity plays down today included Bucyrus International ( BUCY ) and Consol Energy ( CNX ) .
