Market Chatter: Mobile TeleSystems Rises on Reported Interest in Selling Part of Ukraine Business

OAO Mobile TeleSystems (MTSS.ME) rose in Moscow trading on Tuesday as Bloomberg reported that Russia's biggest mobile phone company wants to sell part of its Ukraine business.

Shares were recently up 0.6% at 229.37 rubles each, in a 52-week range of 224.65 - 353.77.

MTS, seeking to limit political risk and share costs, has hired advisers to identify co-investors to help build a new network in Ukraine and may offer them a stake in the business, Bloomberg said, citing an unidentified source. An MTS spokesman said the company wants to remain in Ukraine.
