Major Market Indexes Little Changed in Late Wednesday Trading

Stocks were indicated to close narrowly mixed Wednesday as another day of earnings failed to provide the overall market with much direction.

While the market's major indexes failed to make any major moves, some individual sectors did, including healthcare, which was down about 2.7% amid anxiety about the future of US healthcare policy. In late trading, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up fractionally, held back by losses in Merck (MRK), IBM (IBM) and Pfizer (PFE). Meanwhile, the S&P 500 fell 0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite Index was off 0.1%.
