Latin American Markets Mixed

In Latin American markets shares of energy and mining companies are mixed while telecom and utility stocks are mostly higher. Financial stocks also are mostly edging higher.

- Ibovespa down 159.71 (-0.28%) to 57,530.53.

- IPC (Mexico City) up 72.73 (+0.197%) to 42,113.87.

- Santiago Index IPSA up 16.69 (+0.39%) to 4,252.36.

- Merval Buenos Aires down 0.76 (-0.03%) to 2,368.20.

In ADR news, Southern Copper ( SCCO ) is ahead more than 1% and moving closer to year highs despite the miner reporting a 67% slump in Q3 net profit from the same period last year to $217.9 million due to softer global prices for the metal and a $316.2 million charge for legal fees.
