Largest option trades in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

J.C. Penney (JCP): Some 13,500 September 10 puts were bought, mostly for $0.59, as investors continue to seek downside in the ailing retailer. JCP fell 2.64 percent to $12.93.

Vodafone (VOD): An investor sold about 30,600 January 30 calls for $1.95 and bought an equal number of January 33 calls for $0.70. Volume was below open interest at the lower strike, indicating that an existing position was rolled forward in time. VOD rose 0.94 percent to $30.73.

Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH): A block of 8,000 January 80 calls was bought for $3.10 as investors look for continued upside in the share price. Some 3,200 September 77.50s were sold at the same time, which suggests an existing position was closed and rolled up and out. CTSH fell 0.84 percent to $73.39. (See related story )
