Largest option trades in equities

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

iShares MSCI Taiwan fund (EWT): Approximately 8,000 August 16 puts were bought, most of which priced for $0.16, as investors braced for downside in the fund. EWT fell 0.43 percent to $16.23.

Medtronic (MDT): Some 10,000 January 70 calls were bought, mostly for $1.43, as investors look for upside in the stock. MDT is unchanged at $63.61. (See post in InsideOptions Pro )

Encana (ECA): About 25,000 January 23 calls were purchased, mostly for $1.50, as investors look for upside in the Canadian energy firm. There was also heavy volume in the July 21 calls and July 22 calls against open interest, which suggests an existing position was rolled forward in time. ECA fell 0.13 percent to $22.24.
