Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.
Best Buy (BBY): Some 5,000 April 21 calls sold for $1.60 against open interest, and about 13,000 of the April 23 calls were bought for $0.62. It appears a winning long position was closed and rolled to the higher strike in hope of further upside. BBY rose 2.75 percent to $22.04.
ConocoPhillips (COP): almost 18,000 weekly 60 calls expiring this Friday were purchased for $0.16 to $0.21 as investors position for a short-term rally in the stock. COP rose 0.63 percent to $59.44.
MetroPCS Communications (PCS): Some 11,000 April 11 calls were bought for $0.22 but volume was far below open interest at the strike. PCS fell 1.20 percent to $10.26.
National Oilwell Varco (NOV): Some 10,000 May 65 puts were bought, mostly for $1.26, but volume was below open interest at the strike. NOV fell 1.03 percent to $69.80.
