Largest option buying in equities so far

Nearing the halfway mark in today's session, here are the individual equity names with the most call and put buying on optionMONSTER's ActionTracker data system.

JDS Uniphase (JDSU): More than 10,000 March 14 puts were bought for $0.30 to $0.35 as investors brace for downside in the telecom-equipment stock. JDSU fell 0.84 percent to $14.03. (See related story )

Bank of America (BAC): More than 35,000 March 12 calls traded, mostly for $0.15 to $0.20, but volume was below open interest at the strike. BAC rose 2.51 percent to $11.84.

Intel (INTC): Almost 16,000 April 22 puts were bought for $0.77, but volume was below open interest at the strike. INTC rose 0.65 percent to $21.65.

Sony (SNE): Some 10,000 March 14 puts were bought for $0.05 against previous open interest. That suggests an existing short position was closed profitably. SNE rose 1.68 percent to $15.77.
