Top Health Care Stocks:
Top health care stocks were moving higher in pre-market trading Tuesday.
Early movers include:
(+) CRISPR Therapeutics (CRSP), which was advancing nearly 5% as the company and Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) said the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted Fast Track Designation for CTX001 to treat transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia (TDT), which are inherited blood disorders. Vertex Pharmaceuticals was unchanged amid the news.
(+) UnitedHealth Group (UNH) was more than 3% higher after saying its Q1 adjusted EPS rose to $3.73 from $3.04 a year ago, beating the $3.60 average estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ.
(+) Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) was up more than 1% after reporting Q1 adjusted earnings of $2.10 per diluted share, up from $2.06 per share a year ago and above the $2.04 average estimate from analysts polled by Capital IQ.
