Health-care shares were mainly higher in pre-market trade Wednesday.

In health-care stocks news, Esperion Therapeutics ( ESPR ) shares were upgraded to neutral from sell by Chardan, while the firm lowered its price target to $18 from $29.

Shares in the company were 12.8% higher at $20.57 pre-bell. Over the past 52 weeks, the company has traded between $18 and $120.96.

Bellerophon Therapeutics ( BLPH ) shares were higher after reporting that its INOpulse inhaled treatment of nitric oxide improved vasodilation in patients with pulmonary hypertension associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
