Top Health Care Stocks
Health care stocks were sharply lower with another plunge for biotech shares, with the NYSE Health Care Sector Index falling nearly 3.7% and shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 down over 3.9% as a group.
In company news, OncoSec Medical ( ONCS ) slumped Monday despite the biotech company developing immunotherapies to treat various forms of solid tumors reported positive results from Phase II testing of its ImmunoPulse experimental cancer treatment.
According to the company, 11 of 14 patients, or 79%, showed an increase in IL-12 protein levels in tumor biopsy samples over baseline levels 22 days after treatment, suggesting ImmunoPulse IL-12 is leading to successful DNA transfection within the tumor.
ONCS shares were down almost 15% at $5.75 each this afternoon, earlier falling to a session low of $5.01 a share.
