Health care stocks were tilting lower Tuesday afternoon, including a slightly more than 0.3% decline for the NYSE Health Care Index in recent trading. Shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 were down almost 0.2% as a group while the Nasdaq Biotechnology index was losing about 0.2% today.

+ Viking Therapeutics ( VKTX ) climbed as much as 10% on Tuesday after saying it has completed enrollment for a phase II trial to evaluate the efficacy, safety and tolerability of its VK2809 drug candidate in patients with primary hypercholesterolemia and non-alcoholic fatty liver and elevated LDL cholesterol levels.

In other sector news:

+ Protalix BioTherapeutics ( PLX ) rose Tuesday after the early-stage pharmaceuticals company reported additional positive trial results for its OPRX-106 drug candidate in patients with ulcerative colitis.
