In health-care stocks news, KemPharm ( KMPH ), a specialty drugmaker, said its investigational hydromorphone prodrug KP511 was granted Fast Track designation by the Food and Drug Administration.
Shares in the company were 8.3% higher at $8.18 pre-bell. The stock has traded between $6.88 and $26.15 over the past 52 weeks.
And Galectin Therapeutics ( GALT ) posted a Q1 net loss of $7 million, or $0.24 per share, compared with a net loss of $5.1 million, or $0.22 per share, for the same period last year.
