Health-care shares were generally higher in pre-market trading Friday.
Proteon Therapeutics ( PRTO ), a biopharmaceutical company, reported Friday a narrower net loss for 2014 than in the prior-year period as it began generating revenue, although the loss on a per-share basis was wider than analysts expected. Shares were inactive pre-market after closing Thursday at $11.62. Over the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded between $8.57 and $12.65.
Akorn ( AKRX ), a specialty pharmaceutical company, said Friday it has launched Phenylephrine HCl Ophthalmic Solution, USP, 2.5% and 10%, bringing a shelf-stable formulation of phenylephrine back to the market. Shares were inactive pre-market after closing Thursday at $49.44. Over the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded between $20.52 and $55.86.
Intercept Pharmaceuticals ( ICPT ) shares jumped in pre-market trading after the company announced new subgroup analyses from the Phase 2b FLINT trial of obeticholic acid in patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. Shares were 10% higher at $317.85 during pre-market trading. Over the past 52 weeks, the stock has traded between $128.50 and $449.
