Top Health Care Stocks
Health care stocks were narrowly higher, with the NYSE Health Care Index climbing about 0.3% while shares of health care companies in the S&P 500 were up about 0.1% as a group.
In company news, Diplomat Pharmacy ( DPLO ) advanced Thursday after saying it is now filling prescriptions for Cosentx following the approval of two new indications for the interleukin antagonist.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration recently added the treatment of active ankylosing spondylitis and active psoriatic arthritis to the approved indications for Cosentx, which is manufactured for Diplomat Pharma by Novartis ( NVS ).
DPLO shares were up nearly 1% at $31.38 apiece, easing from an earlier rise to $32.09 a share. NVS shares were down almost 1% at $79.93 each, dropping to a session low of $79.27 a share during morning trading.
