Current FCF is enough to maintain the dividend, but not to maintain the dividend AND buyback shares in any meaningful amount.We are calling for an aggressive share buyback program because we believe that the stock is significantly undervalued. With dividend payments, you get $1 - income tax for each dollar of cash. With share repurchases, you would be getting more than $1 in value for each dollar of cash (because the stock would be bought at prices below intrinsic value).There is nothing wrong with dividends per se (other than avoidable tax payments). The purpose of reducing/suspending the dividend would be to devote as much FCF as possible share repurchases at a price at which they generate shareholder value.If you require 7% yield income for personal reasons, then simply sell 7% of your stock position every year. Because the company will be generating shareholder value through stock repurchases, the stock price will appreciate over time, and you will end up better off than with your current 7% dividend yield.
