The SPDR S&P Insurance ETF (KIE) is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 1.2 million shares traded versus three month average volume of about 295,000. Shares of KIE were up about 0.9% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were Metlife (MET), trading up about 1.6% with over 2.8 million shares changing hands so far this session, and American International Group (AIG), up about 0.9% on volume of over 2.7 million shares. American Equity Investment Life Holding (AEL) is the component faring the best Friday, up by about 4.4% on the day, while Progressive (PGR) is lagging other components of the SPDR S&P Insurance ETF, trading lower by about 1.7%.
