In trading on Friday, the SPDR Russell 3000 ETF ( THRK ) is outperforming other ETFs, up about 0.6% on the day. Components of that ETF showing particular strength include shares of NPS Pharmaceuticals ( NPSP ), up about 16.9% and shares of Big Lots ( BIG ), up about 11.7% on the day.
And underperforming other ETFs today is the SPDR S&P Metals and Mining ETF ( XME ), off about 2% in Friday afternoon trading. Among components of that ETF with the weakest showing on Friday were shares of Alpha Natural Resources ( ANR ), lower by about 5.1%, and shares of United States Steel (X), lower by about 4.7% on the day.
