Friday Sector Leaders: Services, Financial

In afternoon trading on Friday, Services stocks are the best performing sector, higher by 0.4%. Within the sector, Horton Inc (Symbol: DHI) and Pool Corp (Symbol: POOL) are two large stocks leading the way, showing a gain of 3.3% and 2.8%, respectively. Among the largest ETFs, one ETF closely following services stocks is the iShares U.S. Consumer Services ETF (Symbol: IYC), which is up 0.2% on the day, and up 12.88% year-to-date. Horton Inc, meanwhile, is up 39.23% year-to-date, and Pool Corp is up 70.37% year-to-date.

The next best performing sector is the Financial sector, higher by 0.4%. Among large Financial stocks, SVB Financial Group (Symbol: SIVB) and Everest Re Group Ltd (Symbol: RE) are the most notable, showing a gain of 4.2% and 3.1%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Financial stocks is the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLF), which is up 0.3% in midday trading, and down 16.50% on a year-to-date basis. SVB Financial Group, meanwhile, is up 18.27% year-to-date, and Everest Re Group Ltd, is down 21.23% year-to-date. Combined, SIVB and RE make up approximately 0.9% of the underlying holdings of XLF.
