Friday Sector Laggards: Financial, Healthcare

The worst performing sector as of midday Friday is the Financial sector, showing a 0.1% loss. Within the sector, Kimco Realty Corp. (Symbol: KIM) and Macerich Co (Symbol: MAC) are two large stocks that are lagging, showing a loss of 2.9% and 1.6%, respectively. Among financial ETFs , one ETF following the sector is the Financial Select Sector SPDR ETF (Symbol: XLF), which is down 0.2% on the day, and up 6.76% year-to-date. Kimco Realty Corp., meanwhile, is down 26.51% year-to-date, and Macerich Co , is down 16.11% year-to-date.

The next worst performing sector is the Healthcare sector, up 0.1%. Among large Healthcare stocks, Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Symbol: REGN) and Incyte Corporation (Symbol: INCY) are the most notable, showing a loss of 2.9% and 1.9%, respectively. One ETF closely tracking Healthcare stocks is the Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF ( XLV ), which is flat on the day in midday trading, and up 15.89% on a year-to-date basis. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc., meanwhile, is up 34.92% year-to-date, and Incyte Corporation is up 26.06% year-to-date. Combined, REGN and INCY make up approximately 2.0% of the underlying holdings of XLV.
