(RTTNews.com) - Shares of First Republic Bank (FRC) have pulled back off their best levels of the day but continue to see considerable strength in afternoon trading on Friday. First Republic Bank is currently up by 5.1 percent, continuing to recover from the two-year closing low set on Monday.
First Republic Bank gapped open significantly higher on news the bank will replace SCANA Corp. (SCG) in the S&P 500 effective prior to the start of trading next Wednesday.
Dominion Energy ( D ) is acquiring SCANA Corp. in a deal expected to be completed soon pending final conditions.
