Financial stocks were off to a sluggish start Monday as the National Bank of Greece failed to secure a creditor deal, leading many to believe one is unlikely now. American depository shares slid nearly 17% to about $1.06 in recent pre-market trading Monday.
Genesis HealthCare ( GEN ), a post-acute care provider, said Monday it has agreed to acquire a portfolio of 24 skilled-nursing facilities and the contract-rehabilitation business from privately held Revera, a senior-living company, for $240 million.Under the deal, which is expected to close by year-end, GEN will acquire the real estate of 20 of the 24 facilities and will enter into a long-term lease agreement with Health Care REIT ( HCN ) for the remaining properties. GEN and HCN were both inactive in recent pre-market trading.
