Top Financial Stocks
Financial stocks were lower Wednesday with the NYSE Financial Sector Index dropping about 0.7% and the S&P Financial 100 Index retreating about 0.8%.
In company news, Capitala Finance ( CPTA ) was holding on to a small gain late Wednesday after declaring a special $0.50 per share distribution of the company's common stock to be paid monthly over the rest of 2015.
CPTA shares were up 0.3% at $18.79 apiece, easing from an earlier run to $18.92 a share. The stock has traded within a 52-week range of $17.60 to $20.25 a share, declining 6% over the past 12 months prior to today's session.
