Facebook Messenger (NASDAQ: FB ) is gearing up to include in-app purchases in the near future..
The company is adding a feature to the code for the Facebook Messenger iOS app that allows you to pay for goods. The app will soon offer competition for mobile payment services such as Apple Pay and Android Pay.
Facebook also announced that a "secret conversations" tool may also be happening soon, suggesting that encrypted chats may be on the horizon.
FB stock is up 0.6% Monday.
