Integrated oil behemoth Exxon Mobil Corporation ( XOM ) on Thursday posted a decline in third quarter earnings, although its profit and revenue still beat analysts' forecasts.
The Irving, TX-based company reported third quarter net income of $9.57 billion, or $2.09 per share, compared with $10.33 billion, or $2.13 per share, in the year-ago period.
Revenue fell 7.7% from last year to $115.71 billion.
On average, Wall Street analysts expected a much smaller profit of $1.95 per share, on lower revenue of $112.4 billion.
Exxon Mobil shares fell 69 cents, or -0.8%, in premarket trading Thursday.
